THIRTY-NINE rooms at a Darwin CBD hotel have been filled with interstate travellers under forced quarantine.
The NT News can reveal the Oaks Darwin Elan Hotel is working with the Government to accommodate travellers during their 14-day quarantine.
A spokeswoman from the Wood St hotel said the travellers started arriving last Thursday and now 39 rooms were occupied.
In the NT, there were 409 people under supervised quarantine across 26 different “commercial accommodation options” as of Monday.
A Government spokesman refused to reveal which hotels were being used in order to protect the privacy of people in quarantine.
It comes after the NT News revealed five rooms owned by the Halikos Group in the plush One30 Esplanade building were being used for forced quarantining, without the knowledge or consent of building owners, managers or residents.

One resident said she was scared to leave her apartment because some people in quarantine were using the lifts to collect food deliveries from the foyer.
At the Oaks hotel, management have brought in additional safety and cleaning precautions to ensure the health and wellbeing of their guests and staff.
“Police and Environmental Health conduct checks at the hotel two-three times daily to ensure guests are in their room,” the hotel spokeswoman said. “The hotel is using single entry room key cards for guests who are self-isolating, which means that once a guest leaves their room, they cannot use the same key card to re-enter their room.
“The guest would need to visit reception to have their key card reactivated, at which point hotel reception alert police and health authorities that the guest has breached their self-isolation agreement.”

The spokeswoman said the hotel also had strict guidelines in place if any of their guests were to become unwell during their stay or test positive for COVID-19.
“Hotel reception at Oaks provide courtesy calls twice daily to those self-isolating to check guests’ health and wellbeing throughout their period of isolation,” she said.
“If there is a guest who is confirmed to be positive while staying at the property, medical authorities are notified who then advise on the necessary course of action.”
