MINDIL Beach Casino Resort continues to have no plans to reopen its hotel and resort, despite Territory borders reopening on July 17 to most of Australia.

In an update sent to its Lucky North Club members, general manager Mark Bennett said Delaware North (the casino’s owner) had “always placed a strong emphases on ensuring this iconic Australian tourism business (delivered) the broadest range of services to customers” and that he was “hoping to be able to do this as soon as possible once again”.

“While we greatly value the patronage and other support we receive from the local community, at the moment, demand for the services Mindil Beach Casino Resort usually provides is not at the same level as it was before March,” he said.

There are many reasons for lower levels of demand, notably that it is not currently possible for us to host functions.

“We don’t yet have a date when the hotel and resort will re-open. That said, as soon as it is commercially viable to re-open more of our outstanding facilities we will do this.”
