Days after Virgin Australia dropped massive Travel Tuesday deals, Qantas has upped the ante, offering great deals on cheap flights for travel lovers. We take a look at some of the best deals.
QANTAS CHRISTMAS DEALS
• Qantas is discounting more than 800,000 seats on more than 170 routes around Australia.
• Domestic Economy sale fares start at $109 one-way.
• 17 routes are on sale for under $150 one way, including Brisbane to Sydney, Cairns to Townsville and Launceston to Melbourne.
• Qantas fares include checked baggage, complimentary food and beverages, free Wi-Fi on domestic aircraft.
• Sale fares are for travel from 3 February 2025 to 3 April 2025 and 29 April 2025 to 25 June 2025 and available until 11.59pm (AEDT) 12 December 20241, unless sold out prior.
TRAVEL TUESDAY
It comes after Virgin Australia dropped a massive Travel Tuesday sale earlier this week with flights as low as $49 as well as perks such as a chance to earn triple Velocity points and up to 4.5 per cent cashback on some fares.
The offers follow the release of new data which highlights a 700 per cent increase in “Travel Tuesday” Google search queries in Australia, demonstrating a clear demand from Australians looking to land affordable travel deals to popular holiday destinations.
VIRGIN AUSTRALIA DEALS
Some of the best one-way domestic deals include:
• Sydney to Ballina (Byron Bay) from $49
• Brisbane to Proserpine (Whitsundays) from $79
• Melbourne to Gold Coast from $89
Meanwhile, the cheapest return international trips include:
• Sydney to Nadi (Fiji) from $589
• Brisbane to Port Vila (Vanuatu) from $499
• Melbourne to Queenstown (NZ) from $405

QANTAS RED TAIL DEALS
Meanwhile, Qantas is currently running its Travel Week Red Tail Deals, which includes cut-price fares to a multitude of fantastic international destinations.
Some of the best return international flights on offer include:
• Sydney to New York from $1699
• Brisbane to Tokyo (Narita) from $1149
• Melbourne to Auckland from $559
• Adelaide to Nadi (Fiji) from $740
JETSTAR FARE FRENZY
Jetstar’s Cyber Monday Fare Frenzy, which ends tonight, includes fantastic savings on flight and hotel deals, plus a chance to earn Qantas points on holiday bookings.
There are 194 packages to choose from, but some of the best are:
• Flights and a three-night stay at Mirage Whitsundays from $1251 for two people departing from Brisbane, with savings of $571
• Flights and a three-night stay at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort from $1020 for two people departing from Sydney, with savings of $861
• Flights and a two-night stay at RACV Hobart Hotel from $646 for two people departing from Melbourne (Tullamarine), with savings of $584
