THE final printed edition of the Centralian Advocate hit the streets on Friday.
Moving forward, the Centralian Advocate will maintain two reporters in Alice Springs who will file updated daily content on centralianadvocate.com.au.
The printed NT News and Sunday Territorian will also contain increased Alice Springs and Central Australian content daily. Each Tuesday and Friday in the NT News, a special Centralian Advocate print edition will be published with a minimum of two pages of Central Australian content.
A separate NT News front page will be produced for our Central Australian readers on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Centralian Advocate readers who enjoy the printed TV guide are encouraged to purchase the Sunday Territorian which carries an 8-page TV guide. Coverage of Alice Springs Town Council meetings, political battles, daily police news, court coverage, the vagaries of our weather and our rich community characters will continue.
NT News editor Matt Williams encouraged Red Centre residents to purchase a subscription to support journalism in an amazing part of the world.
“This is not the end of the Centralian Advocate — it’s just a new beginning,” he said.
“A subscription not only gets you access to Centralian Advocate content, it will also get you unrestricted access to the websites and digital print editions of all of News Corp Australia’s major newspapers, except The Australian.
“All we’re asking Central Australians is to please give us a go.
“We want this to be a success just as much as you do. If it exceeds our expectations there’s every chance we will be able hire more Alice Springs-based journalists in the future.
“Put centralianadvocate.com.au in your bookmarks and favourites so you don’t miss out. Let’s do this!”
For a limited time only, you can sign up for full digital access for just $1 a week for 12 weeks (minimum cost $4).
