Briefings to help NT industry to find work on $1.1 billion Tindal defence upgrades

LENDLEASE is reaching out to Territory contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to attend a key information night about the $1.1 billion worth of works involving RAAF base Tindal stage 6 redevelopment and RAAF base Tindal US Force Posture Initiatives airfield work.

Lendlease Building is urging locals interested in opportunities to participate on the project at RAAF Base Tindal to attend.

As managing contractor, Lendlease will host two information sessions.

The Darwin session will be November 27 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Esplanade from 4pm and the Katherine session will be at the Katherine Town Council on November 28 from 4pm.

At the sessions, Lendlease will present an overview of the project scope and outline the procurement processes.

The Industry Capability Network (ICN) will also be represented at the event.

All procurement opportunities will be publicly listed on TDLRedevKC30AFacilities.icn.org.au

The project’s purpose is to deliver facilities and infrastructure to maintain the capability of the base and increase the capacity for the KC-30A Multi Role Transport Tanker operating from RAAF base Tindal.

The Stage 6 redevelopment work is worth approximately $416 million and the value of the KC-30A facilities work is about $701 million.

The new facilities and infrastructure are to be delivered while maintaining full operational continuity for the RAAF operations, as well as civilian aircraft which use the airfield.

Early work package expressions of interest will start as soon as next month with tender occurring in early 2020, pending government and parliamentary approval, for the early work packages, including:

• Living-in Accommodation Level 5 (LIA)

• Central Emergency Power Station (CEPS)

• Security Force Amenities Facilities

• Workers Accommodation Village (WAV) Expansion

• Electrical Infrastructure / CEPS High Voltage (HV).
