AUSTRALIA’S largest taxi network has travelled into the Territory, bringing with it a “contactless delivery service” for food, parcels and medical supplies.

Taxi company 13cabs, which notes itself as supporting 40,000 drivers across 10,000 vehicles nationwide, launched in Darwin late last month to provide the NT with a “better alternative”.

There are about six other taxi options in the Darwin area already, including Darwin Radio Taxis, Blue Taxi Company, and rideshare services like Uber.

13cabs has also launched 13things, a service that allows local business to get their items instantly delivered.

“Darwin has experienced strong growth and the need for better transport options is well and truly here,” general manager Greg Hardeman said.
