FORMER Cattlemen’s Association boss Ashley Manicaros has been appointed to a new role in CLP Senator Sam McMahon’s office.

Mr Manicaros will take over from Kris Civitarese as Ms McMahon’s office manager.

“Kris has been a tremendous asset to the team and I am sorry to see him move on from the position although he will still retain a role within the office,” Senator McMahon said.

“I welcome the skills, experience and broad industry connections Ashley has.”

Mr Manicaros was removed as CEO at the NT Cattlemen’s Association in December with several months to run on his contract.

He has since commenced legal action against his former employer.

Prior to his role at the NTCA, Mr Manicaros was business editor at the NT News.

He attempted to gain CLP pre-selection in the seat of Port Darwin prior to the Territory election last August.

In February, the NT News reported an internal row had broken out in the CLP amid a push to replace Ms McMahon prior to the next federal election.
