The NT Government has announced it will go ahead with a $400 million ship lift. Here are all that is known so far.
DETAILS ACCORDING TO THE NT GOVERNMENT
■ It will be a 103m ship lift capable of lifting vessels up to 5000 tonnes.
■ It will have a 20ha of hard stand area for ship repair and maintenance works.
■ Four 4 wet berths (wharves).
■ It will be located at East Arm.
■ The facility will dry dock and launch vessels.

■ It will cost $400 million to build.
■ $100 million has been put up by the NT Government.
■ The rest of the money to come from the Federal Government, the Northern Australian Infrastructure Facility (NAÏF), or further NT Government investment.

■ Minister for Northern Australia Matt Canavan said the lift was at the due diligence stage of being assessed for a NAIF loan.
