A 26-year-old man who died in a horrific motorcycle crash in Queensland on the day of his son’s fifth birthday has been remembered as a “beloved father”.
Jacob Bramhall Straub was riding his motorbike along Compton Rd near the intersection of Allingham St in Kuraby in Brisbane’s south at 11.30pm on Tuesday when he allegedly crashed into a parked truck.
Emergency services performed CPR on Mr Bramhall Straud but he could not be revived.
The motorcyclist has been remembered by his family as friends as a “beloved father” who had “planned” out the rest of his life with his soon-to-be wife.
“Jacob is a beloved father of two beautiful boys, Kaleb (5) and Kaspar (1) and fiance of Mikaela,” family friend Emma Hanson wrote.
“Only last month Jacob proposed to Mikaela, they had planned the rest of their lives together.
“It was also heartbreakingly Kalebs 5th birthday on Tuesday.”
Following the accident, Ms Hanson set up a GoFundMe to help the victims fiancee paid for the young father’s “unforgettable send off”.
More than $1500 dollars has been donated towards a $10,000 goal.
Investigations into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
Anyone with information or vision of a black Yamaha FZ6S in the area prior to the crash are encouraged to contact police.
