‘Half-Thor’: Strongman Game of Thrones star is ripped to shreds

He was known as The Mountain on Game of Thrones but strongman Hafthor Bjornsson has got himself ripped for his long-awaited boxing grudge match.

Most people know his as The Mountain off HBO’s Game of Thrones but Hafthor Bjornsson is looking much more rugged ahead of his grudge match with rival Eddie Hall.

Bjornsson, who broke the world dead lift record last year, having lifted 501kg, has been laser focused on the high-anticipated boxing grudge match with his greatest rival.

The Icelandic giant finished third or better in the World’s Strongest Man competition every year between 2012 and 2019 but shifted his focus to the squared circle after his bitter rivalry with Hall erupted.

Hall, who won the World’s Strongest Man in 2017, has long been in his crosshairs as the pair shared a bitter rivalry and war of words.

The fight was ridiculed across the boxing world when first announced when videos emerged of the two hulks appearing to have no speed whatsoever in their strikes.However, both have shown they are serious about putting on a show and have the chiselled physiques to prove it.

Hall also shared photos of his cut physique in recent times, having shed more than 30kg to reach 163kg last year after tipping the scales previously at 196kg.

But Bjornsson, who had lost 56kg before his fight in September against arm wrestler Devon Larratt, has shocked fans again with his incredibly ripped physique.

Bjornsson posted a video of him skipping rope and showed off his sveldt new look.

He captioned the video: “My fat % is getting pretty low guys. How do you like the new Half-Thor?”

Serbian Instagram star Daki Savic replied: “F***ing inpressing brother, true inspiration”.

Former European Strongest Man Laurence Shahlaei commented: “Looking fit and healthy buddy. I miss seeing you in strongman but it’s good to see you still working hard and enjoying life”.

The video has just under 160,000 views at time of writing.

And Bjornsson is still focus on the main goal.

After his fight with Larratt in September, Bjornsson called out Hall once again, promising a KO.

“You guys know what I want to fight (next),” he said at the time.

“You guys know. Come on, who is it? I know Eddie’s at home chilling on the sofa with his popcorn and cola.

“Enjoy your life, buddy. I’m gonna knock you out soon.”
