Vladimir Putin has suffered a humiliating blow at the hands of Ukrainian forces as footage emerges of what appears to be a captured high-ranking Russian General.
It is understood the captive, shown on his knees bloodied and in handcuffs, is Colonel General Andrei Sychevoi.
Sychevoi is pictured among several other Russian fighters.

The Sun reports there are claims General Sychevoi tried to escape by telling Ukraine’s forces he was a soldier of low rank.
Sychevoi was among hundreds of Russian officials placed on European Union’s sanctions list in the days after Russia launched its large-scale invasion in February.
He was noted as commander of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District.
However, some have speculated over role in the invasion in recent months amid reports he had taken over a post in the Western Military District.
Military analyst Rob Lee, citing a Russian Telegram channel, suggested he appeared to have been replaced “a month ago”.
It comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the counteroffensive successfully liberated over 30 settlements in the Kharkiv region.
“We are returning the Ukrainian flag and protection to our people everywhere,” he said during his nightly address.

However, retaliation from Moscow appears imminent with Russian media is reporting military reinforcements are on the way to the Kharkiv region.
Kharkiv, in Ukraine’s North East, is the second-largest Ukrainian city and was a major target for the Russian military in the early days of the invasion.
It has since seen deadly spates of conflict with over 2,600 Ukrainians and over 270 Russians killed in the region since fighting began.
