US politics live: ‘Amercia won’t put up with it’: Trump in fresh attack on Zelensky

Donald Trump has taken another swipe at Ukraine’s president as he gears up for a speech in Congress where he has said he will “tell it like it is”.

The bitter fallout from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s trainwreck meeting with Donald Trump is continuing to play out.

On Monday, US time, Mr Trump again laid into his Ukranian counterpart accusing him of not wanting peace and that “America will not put up with it for much longer”.

The US President and Vice President JD Vance’s clash with the Ukranian leader has been cheered by some but has horrified many Americans and world leaders.

The remarks saw hundreds of angry protesters swarm the ski resort where JD Vance was vacationing, forcing the Vice President to move his family to an “undisclosed location”.

In the UK, leaders from Europe and Canada gathered to discuss security.

Following the summit, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer unveiled a four-step plan to help Ukraine, warning Europe is “at a crossroads in history”.

On Monday, UK time, Canadian PM met with his head of state, King Charles III, with Mr Trump’s comments about annexing Canada on the agenda.
