‘Unsettling’: Woman’s ‘crazy’ dental experience goes viral
A woman has issued a complaint to her dental clinic after a bizarre experience which has now been seen by millions on social media.
A woman has received an official apology from her dentist clinic after her hygienist told her several political conspiracy theories, including that Princess Diana and Elvis were alive during a “bizarre” teeth clean.
Jo Danvers, 27, shared her experience in a post online, which has now been viewed by almost 4.5 million people.
Ms Danvers, who is from Oregon, described the incident as “crazy” and shared her email to the clinic outlining her experience with the hygienist.
“While she was cleaning my teeth (i.e. I was in a vulnerable position with her using tools in my mouth) she began to explain political conspiracies as fact,” she wrote in the email.
She then listed multiple theories shared by the hygienist, including that Biden had died in 2020 and that JFK Jr is alive and the true vice president.
The hygienist also told her that Princess Diana was alive, as was John Lennon, Tupac, Elvis and Marilyn Monroe.
“She also told me, ‘You gotta wake up, girlfriend’ when I said I wasn’t aware of any of this (as I didn’t know what to say). Then at the end of the appointment, she told me to tell people about ‘what I learned today’.”
Ms Danvers said she received a call from her dentist who apologised for the hygienist’s actions and said the staffer had only been at the clinic for “a limited time”.
In a formal email response from the office, the clinic said the practice did not “hold this information to be true or appropriate to be discussed in the office”.
The response also stated the hygienist was a “temporary” staffer helping until their permanent hygienist was back in the office.
“I sincerely apologise for what happened at your appointment today,” the response from the clinic stated.
Ms Danvers said she decided to share the experience on her social media as she believed “spouting your political beliefs and conspiracies in a professional environment out of NOWHERE is weirdo behaviour”.
