Biden and his wife, Jill, were sitting outside on their veranda when they heard a loud chorus of clapping and whooping coming from inside.
His grandchildren were watching the television and rushed outside to break the good news.
“Pop, Pop! We won!” they told the now-president-elect, according to NBC News.
They all hugged and Biden appears to have a chuffed grin on his face.
Biden’s granddaughter Naomi tweeted a photo of their celebration to Twitter.
All she wrote to accompany the image was the date – November 7, 2020.
It’s had 174,000 likes so far.
The reaction of Biden’s running mate Kamala Harris was also captured on camera and soon went viral.
She was filmed calling up Biden after receiving the news, in hysterics from the excitement.
