Melania Trump reveals wild new career move

Former first lady Melania Trump has shocked her fans be unveiling a wild new career move.

Trump hopes his wife said 'good things' about him in her new book

Melania Trump has been criticised after revealing her shocking new career move amid her husband’s campaign for a second stint as president.

The 54-year-old former first lady has announced she is now selling Christmas ornaments by sharing a festive video on social media on Saturday with the caption ‘Merry Christmas, AMERICA!’.

The businesswoman – who once bashed the festive season while in the White House – said she was “thrilled to unveil 2024’s limited ornament series”.

“Each unique piece captures the magic of the holiday season,” she wrote on the post.

“Let these ornaments inspire cherished memories and bring warmth to your entire family. Happy collecting!”.

The Christmas ornaments, named ‘USA Star,’ ‘Vote Liberty,’ ‘Let It Snow,’ and ‘Love & Freedom,’ range from $75 to $90 (AUD$110 - AUD$133).

The move has sparked backlash from fans, who recall her expressing her frustration about getting the White House into the festive spirit back in 2018.

At the time, she said ‘You know what, who gives a f**k about Christmas stuff and decorations?’.

When former US president Donald Trump was in office, she decorated the White House with Balsam fir trees that dripped with icicles, which many on social media deemed to be “eerie and cold”.

In 2018, she decorated the East Colonnade with 40 bold blood-red trees and draped 14,000 red ornaments throughout the White House.

Although her office stated that the red symbolised ‘valour and bravery,’ the decor quickly earned the nickname ‘murder trees,’ leading to a wave of memes, public backlash, and accusations of being ‘un-American.’

“We all know what you REALLY think about Christmas,” one user on X, formerly Twitter wrote, referring to her leaked comments about Christmas decor in 2018.

“The first family of grifting their own supporters,” said another.

“You are always trying to sell something. Damn girl. Trump has you out here on the track to pay his legal bills,” another shared.

Despite the backlash, many others stood up for the former first lady. Kellyanne Conway said she “missed” Melania Trump running the Christmas events in the White House compared to how Jill Biden was decorating.

“It was very tastefully done,’ she said.

Earlier this month, Melania spoke out against “efforts to silence” her husband in a promotional video for her new book.

The memoir, simply titled Melania, will be released on October 1, about a month before the presidential election between Mr Trump and his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.

“The 2020 election result changed our lives forever,” she said.

“It impacted our quality of life, cost of food, gasoline, safety, and even the geopolitical landscape,” Mrs Trump said in a new video promoting the book on her social media accounts over the weekend.

“America is more divided today than ever before,” she added.

“It has become increasingly apparent that there are significant challenges to free speech, as demonstrated by the efforts to silence my husband.”

She married the former president in 2005, when he was a billionaire real estate developer and host of the reality TV series The Apprentice.

They share a son together, 18-year-old Barron.

Mr Trump’s other children, Donald Jr, Ivanka, Eric and Tiffany, are from his previous two marriages to Ivana Trump and Marla Maples.
