Trump claims new groping allegations are part of a plot against him
THE Republican candidate has suggested the Clintons are behind the claims of sexual assault, and now he’s planning to reveal the truth.
DONALD Trump says new reports of groping are part of a plot against him, as two more women claim he sexually assaulted them.
Summer Zervos, a former contestant on Mr Trump’s show, The Apprentice, told a news conference this morning the Republican presidential candidate kissed her twice on the lips during a meeting about possible employment opportunities.
The 41-year-old claims he started kissing her “open-mouthed” and pulling her towards him in a room at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 2006.
“He then asked me to sit next to him. I complied. He then grabbed my shoulder and began kissing me very aggressively, and placed his hand on my breast,” Ms Zervos told reporters. She says when she resisted, he pulled her into the bedroom, and thrust his genitalia in her direction.
“You do not have the right to treat women as sexual objects just because you are a star,” she said in Los Angeles.
The Trump campaign issued a statement saying the candidate only “vaguely” remembered her.
“To be clear, I never met her at a hotel or greeted her inappropriately a decade ago,” he is quoted as saying.
It comes as Kristin Anderson told the Washington Post the business mogul put his hand up her skirt at a nightclub in the early 1990s “just to prove that he could”.
“He did touch my vagina through my underwear, absolutely,” she said in a video interview. “As I pushed the hand away and I got up and turned around, I see these eyebrows — very distinct eyebrows — of Donald Trump.”
It’s been a tough two weeks for Mr Trump, whose campaign is struggling to recover from a video in which he brags about groping women in 2005.
“When you’re a star, they let you do it. Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything,” he said, among a few other vulgarities.
At a rally in Ohio yesterday, he hinted the accusations were all part of a conspiracy.
“These vicious claims, about me, of inappropriate conduct with woman, are totally and absolutely false, and the Clintons know it, and they know it very well. These claims are all fabricated. They’re pure fiction, and they’re outright lies. These events never, ever, happened,” he told supporters.
“We already have substantial evidence to dispute these lies, and it will be made public in an appropriate way, and at an appropriate time, very soon.”
His claims were echoed by running mate Mike Pence, who said Mr Trump had assured him personally the allegations were false.
““Before the day is out, there’ll be more evidence publicly that calls into question these latest allegations,” the Indiana governor said in an interview on This Morning.
“Stay tuned. I know there’s more information that’s going to be coming out that will back his claim that this is all categorically false.”
It’s all systems go for the Democrats, ahead of the final debate on October 20.
First Lady Michelle Obama delivered a powerful speech earlier this week, condemning Donald Trump’s treatment of women while campaigning for Hillary Clinton.
“The fact is that, in this election, we have a candidate for president of the United States who over the course of his lifetime, and the course of this campaign, has said things about women that are so shocking, so demeaning, that I simply will not repeat anything here today. And last week, we saw this candidate actually bragging about sexually assaulting women,” she said.
“It has shaken me to my core in a way that I couldn’t have predicted.”
Meanwhile, outgoing President Barack Obama has called Trump out for complaining the election is rigged against him at a rally in Ohio.
“Civility is on the ballot. Tolerance is on the ballot. Courtesy is on the ballot. Honesty is on the ballot. Equality is on the ballot. Kindness is on the ballot,” Mr Obama said.
“Democracy itself is on the ballot right now.”
