The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 3.30pm on Wednesday near Fremont Street and Atlantic Street, near Charleston Boulevard, 8NewsNow reports.
Las Vegas Metro police and SWAT officers responded to the scene. The person was taken into custody just before 7.30pm.
The incident was first reported to police as a person armed with a knife, according to the local news station.
A number of streets were closed and the public was asked to avoid the area.
Video shared on social media showed at least 10 police cars near the bus, which was stopped next to a service station.

The location is about 15 minutes away from the Trump International Hotel, where one person was killed and several others injured after a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the main entrance on Wednesday morning.
The blast is now reportedly being investigated as a possible terrorist attack, law enforcement sources told NBC News.
No reports have linked the two incidents.
