Ghislaine Maxwell bitter that only a woman — herself — has faced justice for Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes
The bitter right hand woman of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein has spoken has hundreds of names were revealed in a trove of documents.
Ghislaine Maxwell is bitter that a woman — herself — is the only person who seems to have faced consequences over Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking ring, her lawyer said, as a trove of new documents concerning the sinister scheme began being made public.
“I don’t think she has anything to talk about except maybe that if you look at this crime, this overall crime, it’s all about men abusing women for a long period of time … and it’s only one person in jail — a woman,” Maxwell’s lawyer, Arthur Aidala, told TV network NewsNation this week.
Maxwell, 62, is serving a 20-year prison sentence on a federal sex-trafficking conviction for recruiting and grooming underage girls for Epstein — who killed himself in his Manhattan jail cell in 2019, before he could face trial, reported the New York Post.
While Maxwell appears to believe others should be prosecuted for their alleged ties to Epstein’s sick scheme, she didn’t want to comment on the release of long-sealed documents containing the names of 170 people associated with the financier, her lawyer said.
She had “nothing to say” beyond expressing her ire that only a woman has faced justice for the crimes against women, Mr Aidala told the outlet.
The court documents — containing the names of people previously known only as “John” and “Jane Does” — stem from a 2015 lawsuit by Epstein accuser the Australian-American Virginia Giuffre, who has alleged Maxwell facilitated the sexual abuse she suffered.
Many of the people identified in the documents are previously known to have been associated with Epstein — including former President Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew.
A Manhattan federal judge ruled last month that the files could be made public.
“Ghislaine Maxwell took no position on the Court’s recent decision to unseal documents in Giuffre v. Maxwell as these disclosures have no bearing on her or her pending appeal,” Mr Aidala and another of Maxwell’s attorneys, Diana Fabi Samson, added in a statement to The Post on Wednesday.
“Ghislaine’s focus is on the upcoming appellate argument asking for her entire case to dismissed. She is confident that she will obtain justice in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals,” the statement said.
“She has consistently and vehemently maintained her innocence.”
