George Floyd protests: Photo captures powerful moment demonstrators arrested in Los Angeles
A photographer has captured a powerful moment in Los Angeles after eight tense days of protests across America.
After eight straight days of protests across the United States, the streets of Los Angeles were relatively calm on Tuesday.
Demonstrators still marched through the city overnight, shouting “I can’t breathe” and calling for justice for George Floyd, who died in Minneapolis under the knee of a white police officer.
But the rallies were largely peaceful compared to those earlier in the week, which devolved into looting and violence.
At one protest, a photographer captured the powerful moment dozens of demonstrators sat on the ground and put their hands behind their heads before being taken into custody for defying the city’s curfew.
