Convicted rapist and former movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is facing six new sex assault charges brought by women in California.

Convicted rapist and former movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is facing six new sex assault charges relating to women in California as he serves time in a New York prison.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office laid the charges against the disgraced Hollywood producer, all which allegedly took place in Beverly Hills hotels.

The office of DA Jackie Lacey alleges Weinstein raped a woman at one hotel between September 1, 2004 and September 30, 2005, the New York Post reported.

The felony complaint also alleges Weinstein twice raped another woman at a hotel. He is now facing a total of 11 charges relating to alleged attacks on five women at various hotels.

According to court documents, the charges include four counts each of forcible rape and of forcible oral copulation, two counts of sexual battery by restraint and one count of sexual penetration by use of force.

The felony complaint also alleges that Weinstein raped an Italian model at the luxury Mr. C Hotel in Beverly Hills on February 18, 2013.

It alleges the following day he attacked actor and model Lauren Young inside his suite at the Montage Beverly Hills hotel.

Ms Young testified against Weinstein at his trial on sexual assault charges in New York earlier this year.

Weinstein allegedly sexually assaulted a third woman at a Beverly Hills hotel on May 11, 2010.

In a statement, DA Lacey thanked the women who first reported Weinstein to police “whose courage has given strength to others to come forward”.

“The willingness of these latest victims to testify against a powerful man gives us the additional evidence we need to build a compelling criminal case,” she said.

After his Manhattan rape trial in March, Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years and is currently incarcerated in the maximum security Wende Correctional Facility, near Buffalo in upstate New York.

An extradition hearing to bring Weinstein to California for trial on the LA hotel charges will be held in a Buffalo court on December 11.

A spokesman for Weinstein denied the fresh allegations, saying he had “always maintained that every one of his sexual encounters throughout his entire life has been consensual. That hasn’t changed.”
