Jeffrey Epstein: Victims speak after alleged abuser's death

Where is Ghislaine Maxwell?

This has been the question on everyone’s lips since the woman accused of recruiting sex slaves for Jeffrey Epstein vanished.

Ms Maxwell is the daughter of disgraced media tycoon Robert Maxwell and has long been accused of playing a key role in finding underage victims for the disgraced paedophile.

The 57-year-old, who has constantly denied the allegations, hasn’t been seen in public since around the time of Epstein’s death.

The 66-year-old was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Centre in New York City on August 10 where he was awaiting trial on child sex trafficking charges.

His death was ruled a suicide.

The last time Ms Maxwell was seen was at a Los Angeles burger restaurant in August just days after news of Epstein’s death came to light.

She was reading a book called The Book of Honour: The Secret Lives and Deaths of CIA Operatives.

However, there have been speculations this photo was staged, with some theorists claiming the advertisements did not match the time the photograph was supposedly taken at the In-N-Out burger chain.

It is unknown whether this theory has any truth to it but it remains true that her current whereabouts are not known.

Her alleged role as Epstein’s madam and her sudden disappearance has made any information about the British socialite highly coveted.

There have been various reports of Ms Maxwell being spotted across the US and Europe, but there has been no confirmed sightings in months.

Prince Andrew told the BBC he last saw her earlier this year when she was in the UK for “some rally”.

But a source told The Sun newspaper they met in the Duke’s private quarters at Buckingham Palace on June 6.

“The Duke and Ghislaine met at the palace. She brought four other people with her. They were all smartly dressed and looked very official, very serious and business-like. There was no way it was a social occasion. They stayed for about two hours,” they said.

“Looking back now it seems very likely they would have been discussing the fallout from Epstein’s misdemeanours and what they planned to do about it.”

Some British tabloids now want information about her so badly that they are even offering thousands of dollars in rewards.

The Sun has offered $A18,900 (£10,000) to anyone who can provide information on her whereabouts that leads to the media outlet making contact with her.

‘GONE FAR AWAY’

The ex-girlfriend of Prince Andrew and longtime friend of Ms Maxwell has said it is unlikely the 57-year-old will ever be found.

Lady Victoria Hervey revealed she had a brief romance with the royal after Ms Maxwell introduced them in 1999.

Prince Andrew has recently been fighting allegations he had sex with one of Epstein’s alleged underage victims.

Speaking with Good Morning Britain, Lady Victoria said she was in “disbelief” when she found out about the allegations against Ms Maxwell.

The 43-year-old said she hadn’t seen her friend since September last year and revealed she didn’t think anyone would be able to find her.

“I don’t think anyone is going to find her,” she told the program.

She said she believed Ms Maxwell had “gone far away”.

“Ghislaine is like a James Bond character – she is quite a unique person,” she said.

“I just don’t believe anyone is going to find her.”

During the interview Lady Victoria also defended Prince Andrew, saying she believes he is innocent of the crimes he has been accused of.

“I think the public already made their decision a long time ago and thought he was guilty,” she said.

“I think he didn’t do it – there’s no way he would go onto television and put himself in that position.”

VICTIM CLAIMS SHE WAS ‘RECRUITED’ BY MAXWELL

One of Epstein’s alleged underage sex slaves, Virginia Roberts, has previously spoken out about Ms Maxwell’s alleged involvement with him.

Roberts went into detail about her experiences with Epstein and Ms Maxwell in court documents submitted for her legal case against the United States government for how they handled Epstein’s prosecution in 2005.

Ms Roberts said she was allegedly recruited and groomed by Ms Maxwell at the age of 15 while working at the Mar-a-Lago spa in Florida to be a sex slave for Epstein.

In the documents, the now 36-year-old, revealed she was raped by Epstein on that trip in the mansion he owned in Manhattan.

She claimed during that during the trip both Epstein and Ms Maxwell trained her to be “everything a man wanted me to be”.

“Over the next few weeks, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell trained me to do what they wanted, including sexual activities and the use of sexual toys,” she alleged in the documents.

“The training was in New York and Florida, at Epstein’s mansions. It was basically every day and was like going to school. I also had to have sex with Epstein many times.”

In an interview with the Miami Herald, Ms Roberts said that Ms Maxwell carried out a lot of the training herself.

“It was everything down to how to give a blow job, how to be quiet, be subservient, give Jeffrey what he wants,” she said.

Authorities have never charged Ms Maxwell over Epstein’s crimes, bur she has been sued in civil lawsuits.

She has continually denied all allegations against her.
