German beauty queen Linda Dohmen arrested over alleged hostage-taking plot

SHE walked the catwalk by day. But by night, aspiring model Linda Dohmen was plotting an elaborate hostage grab.

BEAUTY queen Linda Dohmen has been arrested after anti-terrorist police raided her home and found automatic machine pistols, a silencer, crowbars, knives and rubber face masks she and her brother were allegedly intending to use to grab hostages in a robbery.

A specialist SAS-trained paramilitary unit carried out the arrests because they learned the pair were “armed and serious”.

Police said they found sketches and plans that Dohmen, 20, had drawn as she plotted to raid a supermarket she once worked at as cashier in Ruhr town.

Also uncovered were chains to shackle hostages with.

Dohmen and her brother were being held by police without the possibility of bail.

The recently crowned “Miss Krefeld” and her 22-year-old brother Frank were being held by police without the possibility of bail.

“We have information she and he were part of a four-man band planning this hostage-taking for money,” said a spokesman for the State Criminal Office in Dusseldorf.
