WITNESSES have shared chilling accounts from the suspected terror attack in London, with some reporting a man yelled ‘This is for Allah’.
Three terrorists were shot dead after killing at least six people and wounding 48 others during a bloody stabbing rampage that began at London Bridge.
Attackers mowed down pedestrians in a van before stabbing people near the Borough Market.
One witness told BBC the attackers were running towards people and yelling “This is for Allah”.
Other witnesses have described seeing the men wielding large knives.
“I saw a man in red with quite a large blade, I don’t know the measurement, I guess maybe 10 inches,” a witness told BBC Radio 5.
“He was stabbing a man ... he stabbed him about three times fairly calmly. It looked the man had maybe been trying to intervene but there wasn’t much that he could do he was being stabbed quite coldly and he slumped to the ground.”
The witness said the attacker then walked off “boldly”.
A man told the BBC that he saw the attackers going into several bars near the Borough Market.
“They ran up and started stabbing this girl, the three of them,” he said.
“They attacked her and then they stabbed another guy. They were running into all the pubs, all the bars ... they were stabbing everyone.”
There are unconfirmed reports the attackers were yelling, “this is for Allah”.
Another witness told the BBC that she was caught up in the drama as police confronted at least one of the attackers near the Borough Market.
“The cab driver turned into the market and we got stuck right in the middle of the shooting we were in a one-way street and couldn’t turn around,” Kumi de Costa told the BBC.
“There were loads of shots being fired. Two people were on the floor behind the church with two or three people leaning over them.
“About 50 police were pointing guns at us - the cab driver had the laser pointed right at them, our hands were up, we were trying to get out so they shooed us away.
“A man was coming out of the restaurant, he had a napkin on his neck with blood pouring out, there was another man lying on the floor. I don’t know if he was in the recovery position or dead.
“We weaved through little side streets where the police were telling us to go to Blackfriars Bridge and we could see people looking over the side; people had maybe jumped over the bridge.
“A couple of times we had to lie down on the floor of the cab because of the shooting around us.”
A man told The Sun that he was inside the Black and Blue restaurant in the Borough Market when the attackers entered.
“There were people throwing chairs and glasses outside and I thought it might just be a fight,” Jag Sandue told The Sun.
“Then I realised it was more than that, people were running. Next thing we know, they’re in our restaurant. People were screaming ‘they’ve got knives’.”
The stabbing attack came after an incident on London Bridge where a number of people were hit by a white van that appeared to deliberately mow them down.
Holly Jones, a BBC reporter at the bridge when the incident happened, said a van had swerved off the road into a crowd of pedestrians.
“A white van driver came speeding — probably about 50m/ph — veered off the road into the crowds of people who were walking along the pavement,” she told BBC News.
“He swerved right round me and then hit about five or six people. He hit about two people in front of me and then three behind.”
“I’d say there are about four severely injured people. They all have paramedics assisting them at the moment.”
A taxi driver told LBC that he witnessed men jump out of the van after it mowed people down on London Bridge.
“I didn’t see the van mount the kerb, but I saw everything else,” he said.
”A van came from London Bridge itself, went between the traffic light system and rammed it towards the steps. It knocked loads of people down.
”Then three men got out with long blades, 12 inches long and went randomly along Borough High Street stabbing people at random. I saw a young girl stabbed in the chest.”
Stephen Tull, who is homeless, was under the bridge at the time of the attack when he heard a bang. He told The Guardian he ran up on to the bridge to help and saw one man who jumped out of the van and began attacking people.
