Two dead after gunman storms Aldi supermarket in Germany

Two people have been shot dead by a gunman who stormed an Aldi supermarket.
The shooter opened fire after walking into the store in Schwalmstadt-Treysa, north east of Frankfurt in Germany, at about 1pm local time.
A witness told the German newspaper BILD that a man followed a woman inside the Aldi shortly before gunfire rang out.
The woman was heard screaming for help before the gumnan shot her.
He is then reported to have turned the gun on himself.
Police said there was no longer any danger to the public.
It is not clear what the gunman’s motive was.
