Armed with a Stugna-P anti-tank guided missile systems (ATGMs) on their roofs, the all-terrain vehicles have proved no match for Russia’s arsenal as they can strike ground vehicles as well as low-flying aircraft.
Developed by the Kyiv design bureau Luch, they typically fire 130-millimetre calibre missiles and can be operated by remote control from a distance of up to 50 metres.
Ukraine has assembled a formidable anti-tank force with large numbers of missiles from the UK, US, Germany and others adding to its own arsenal.
Luch’s description of the missile says they are “designed to destroy manpower and stationary and mobile modern armoured targets with combined, carried or monolithic armour including ERA (explosive reactive armour) and also pinpoint targets like weapon emplacements, lightly armoured objects and hovered helicopters at any time of day or night”.
Pictures shared on social media show the two-seater buggies in all their glory, painted in camouflage colours.

Drone footage showed the Russian tank exploding into a fireball the moment it was ambushed on a road.
Flames poured into a line of trees on one side as burning pieces of debris were hurled in the direction of a nearby factory on the other and soon the tank was engulfed in thick smoke.
