Mother ‘ordered Lyft’ to take daughter to childcare

A mum used a ride sharing app to drop her young daughter to childcare and left her baby in a “urine-soaked” blanket, according to police.

A mother in the UK is facing charges after she allegedly ordered a Lyft ride to take her daughter to childcare, while leaving her baby unattended in a “urine soaked” blanket.

Stephanie Goddu, 35, from Manchester has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child as well as resisting arrest.

Police launched an investigation early last week after they were notified Goddu had not picked her young children up from childcare.

The officers said she had trouble answering questions and described her as being “incoherent and disorientated”.

During the investigation her three-month-old baby was found in a carrier seat and “covered in urine”, according to police.

It was reported the carrier was placed near a heater with the baby wrapped in heavy clothing and a blanket.

Cops feared the baby was in danger of overheating.

It was also revealed Goddu had hired a driver from the ride sharing app to take her three-year-old to childcare last Monday.

The young girl arrived safely but she was not accompanied by an adult for the journey.

Both the condition of the infant and the unsupervised ride to childcare were cause for police to charge Goddu.

She was arrested in her home, but did not initially surrender and “barricaded herself in her apartment,” therefore she was also charged with resisting arrest.
