French author and TV host Yann Moix sparks outrage saying women his age are ‘invisible’

In sexist, ridiculous, offensive news from France, women over 50 are now “invisible” to famous male authors.

That’s according to multi award-winning author and TV presenter Yann Moix, who has proclaimed to a glossy magazine that he prefers younger women. “That’s all. End of.”

“At 50, I am incapable of loving a woman of 50. I find that too old,” said Moix, who is 50 years old himself.

“I prefer younger women’s bodies, that’s all. End of. The body of a 25-year-old woman is extraordinary. The body of a woman of 50 is not extraordinary at all.”

He conceded it would be possible for him to love a woman of 50 when he himself had grown to an older age.

“When I am 60 years old, I will be able to; 50 will then appear young to me,” he told Marie Claire. For Moix, its all about your spouse being much younger than you. Righto.

The author also explained to the magazine that his predilections included racial preference, which he thinks many wouldn’t admit to because “because it is racism”.

“It’s perhaps sad and reductive for the women I go out with but the Asian type is sufficiently rich, large and infinite for me not to be ashamed,” Moix said.

Moix has won a number of literary awards for his work including the Prix Goncourt for the “the best and most imaginative prose work of the year”, which he was awarded for his debut novel in 1996.

His comments, labelled “sexist” and “disgusting” by critics, sparked outrage and caused a number of authors and other media commentators to respond online.

Moix has responded to the outrage, saying he is “not responsible” for his taste in women, describing them as “a curse”.

“I do not see it as a pride, but almost as a curse,” he said on RTL Radio yesterday.

“One is not responsible for one’s tastes, one’s inclinations.

“I simply note from my experience … that each time a love story was strong and intense, was with a woman younger than me.”
