Charleston Church Shooter Sentenced to Death

THE teenage sister of US mass murderer Dylann Roof, who killed nine African-Americans in the 2015 Charleston church shooting, has been arrested after being caught with weapons at her school.

Morgan Roof, 18, also reportedly posted a threatening and seemingly racist message on Snapchat ahead of a student gun violence protest, writing: “Nothing is going to change what the f*** you think it’s gonna do? I hope it’s a trap and y’all get shot. We know it’s fixing to be nothing but black people walkin out anyway,” according to The Post and Courier.

Police said Roof was carrying pepper spray, a knife and marijuana.

No students were harmed in connection with the arrest, Fox 57 reported.

Roof was slapped with a $5000 bond carried a judge’s condition that she not return to A.C. Flora High School.

The school’s principal sent a letter to parents, informing them about the incident.

“I realize (sic) that rumors (sic) and the tragic school shootings in Florida are events that can cause anxiety for our students, parents, faculty, and the community,” Principal Susan Childs wrote. “Be assured that the safety of our students will always be our top priority.”

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster said “potential tragedy was avoided” thanks to the students and educators who reported “suspicious activity” to a school resource officer.

Dylann Roof, 23, was convicted on federal charges in 2016 and pleaded guilty to state charges in 2017 in connection with the June 2015 murders of nine African-American churchgoers at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston.

The white supremacist stormed the church during a prayer service and shot and killed nine people, before fleeing and becoming the target of a manhunt that ended the morning after.

Roof later confessed he committed the massacre with the goal of sparking a race war.

He was the first person in US history to have faced both a state and federal death penalty at the same time. He pleaded guilty to state charges and was given nine life sentences without parole.

However he is on death row awaiting execution in a federal prison in Indiana.
