Donald Trump’s air strikes on Syria were ‘free after-dinner entertainment’ for the US President
A MEMBER of US President Donald Trump’s Cabinet just made jaws drop with a remark over the Syrian air strike.
DONALD Trump’s air strike against Syria last month was “after-dinner entertainment” at his Florida resort while he was hosting China’s President.
Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, who was with the US President when he ordered the attacks on April 6, made the stunning comparison at a conference in California overnight.
“It was in lieu of after-dinner entertainment,” Mr Ross said of the 57 missiles that hit Syria’s Shayrat air base, according to Variety.
Mr Trump famously authorised the strike as he hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping at his Mar-a-Lago resort, watching on while he ate chocolate cake.
“The thing was, it didn’t cost the President anything to have that entertainment,” Mr Ross said at the Milken Institute’s Global Conference on Monday.

America’s military manoeuvre was in response to Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad’s suspected chemical gas attack on his own citizens, which killed dozens of people, including children.
In the wake of international condemnation of the incident, America vowed to respond.
Since the strikes, Mr Trump has recounted his decision with colourful language, including describing what he was eating at the time.
“I was sitting at the table. We had finished dinner. We’re now having dessert,” he told Fox Business.
“And we had the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that you’ve ever seen, and President Xi was enjoying it.”
CNN reported that it had attempted to clarify Mr Ross’ comments with his office.
