‘Creepy’ dolls left outside the homes of eight young girls in San Clemente, California
CREEPY porcelain dolls crafted to resemble eight young girls have been left outside their homes. Is this the act of a kind stranger or something more sinister?
PORCELAIN dolls crafted to resemble eight young girls have been left outside their homes in California, creeping out the girl’s parents.
“As many as eight homes have had porcelain dolls left on their doorsteps over the last week,” a statement from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said.
“Families in each of the homes where porcelain dolls were left, voiced concern that the dolls resembled their daughters.”
Police are investigating who may be responsible for leaving the toys and whether there is a sinister motive.
The dolls have been left outside homes in Talega community of San Clemente, and a report from KTLA 5 News suggested that some of the girls, who are all aged about 10 years old, attend the same elementary school in the US.
While the anonymous gifts have creeped out some people, others were more generous on Facebook suggesting that their creator could have just been trying to do something nice.
“Why do people tend to gravitate towards creepy? These dolls are beautiful. My grandmother used to make ones just like them. Could this just be a sweet gesture from an elderly lady in your neighborhood?! Get out of your houses and seclusion and get to know your neighbors. Why the paranoia?,” one person posted on the KTLA Facebook page.
While another said: “People who are NOT creepy don’t leave them on your front doorstep like some odd offering - they talk to the adults in the home about what they’re doing.”
