A Victorian woman who travelled to a shopping centre more than 5km away to purchase makeup is among 155 people fined for breaching health orders in the last 24 hours.

A Victorian woman who travelled to a shopping centre more than 5km away to purchase makeup is among 155 people fined for breaching health orders in the last 24 hours.

Of the latest fines issued by Victoria Police, 36 were for failing to wear a face mask, five were at vehicle checkpoints and 25 were for curfew breaches, while 5004 spot checks were conducted at homes, businesses and public places.

Here are some examples provided by police:

– A man on board the 9.46pm train heading to Flinders Street Station with no exemption.

– Three people who had been drinking together between 5.30pm and 8.50pm in Docklands.

– A man who was not wearing a mask at Flinders Street Station and lives more than 5km from the CBD.

– A man who was clothes shopping in Airport West despite living in Mernda.

– A man who walked to a petrol station at 4am to buy food in Maribyrnong.

– A group of people drinking alcohol in a shopping centre carpark and not wearing face coverings.

– A woman who travelled to a shopping centre more than 5km away to purchase makeup.

Police also outlined two more serious incidents.

In one, Geelong police arrested a man at a department store on Tuesday after he was seen “behaving erratically” at around 10.30am.

“Police spoke to the man who was not wearing a mask and after several warnings he was arrested,” police said.

“During the arrest, the man made serious threats to injure the police members.”

The 36-year-old West Melbourne man was charged with seven offences including make threats to seriously injure persons, breaching the chief health officer’s directions and bail offences.

In the second incident, a 41-year-old Chum Creek woman was arrested after assaulting a police officer and refusing to take a drug test at the Maroondah highway vehicle checkpoint yesterday morning.

“She was taken into custody to complete the OFT and is expected to be charged on summons with assault police and drug driving related offences,” police said.

“The police officer sustained a minor graze as a result of the incident.”
