Supermodel Miranda Kerr family’s support of anti-vax causes
The parents of supermodel Miranda Kerr, who is married to billionaire Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel, are out in support of anti-vax groups.
The parents of supermodel Miranda Kerr, and the in-laws to billionaire Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel, are promoting anti-vaxxer causes on social media.
And Miranda’s mother, the self-proclaimed “wellness visionary” Therese Kerr, has told friends she attended a freedom rally in Newcastle against mandatory jabs and vaccination passports, despite claiming she is not against vaccination.
Therese Kerr, who runs a holistic health business, has long warned against the potential harm of chemicals to our bodies and advocated in favour of natural products.
But since the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ms Kerr’s wellness philosophy has lent support in social media posts to those promoting anti-vaccination material.
Both the model’s parents, Therese and husband John, promote posts on their social media accounts which support conspiracy theories that question prevailing mainstream medical views.
Therese Kerr, who has more than 22,000 Instagram followers, posted on her page before the July 24 Newcastle rally, one of several being staged around Australia.
She declared she wasn’t against vaccination, but pro-democracy and cited her own father’s effort in the war.
“Who is going to stand up for the right of ALL Australians to choose,” she posted.
“Our forefathers (including my father) fight for democracy which includes autonomy over our own body.
“I am not anti vax as the media like to continually state. I am pro choice!!.”
When approached by news.com.au, Therese Kerr’s agent Annie Kelly quoted Ms Kerr’s website which says, “I support all people’s personal health and wellness choices including vaccination.
“I am NOT anti-vax. To the contrary, I am Pro-Vaccine Safety and Pro-Choice and believe in bodily autonomy.”
However, in recent posts, Therese has included messages about a government bill proposal to “protect Australians from vaccinations” and videos of Covid-denying broadcaster Alan Jones on Sky News.
Another recent post entitled, “Government in Ireland forced to admit Covid-19 does not exist” complained about control of information and manipulations of minds.
One Facebook video purportedly shows a Danish official collapsing on air after a jab, another was of marchers in the Queensland border closure protest and a third criticised the ABC for supposedly overdramatising the dangerous effects of the virus.
Amid the government’s recent push to boost vaccination rates to beat Delta and speculation employers may be able to mandate vaccines for their workers, Ms Kerr has shared a viral petition for alternate treatment options for Covid-19.
On August 11, she promoted a story online about the drug Ivermectin allegedly reducing the risk of Covid infection.

Earlier this month, the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration banned GPs from prescribing the anti-parasitic drug for “off-label” uses, such as for treating Covid-19.
Also on August 11, Ms Kerr put up a post saying, “Israel is the most fully vaxxed country in the world … US CDC has just issued advice for Americans not to travel to Israel because infections are out of control amongst the fully vaccinated”.
On August 9, she posted a page with sections circled in red from the NSW Public Health Amendment Bill on Instagram.
The circled section said there was a liability for compensation should a worker suffer injury or death as the result of a vaccine.
Ms Kerr remarked: “DEEP BREATH. This means that every business that force mandated Vax on employees is NOW LIABLE for compensation on adverse effects.
“Warning to business owners. Scomo has said they won’t make the jab mandatory but businesses could enforce it.
“The government have wiped their hands of liability of your health”.
The latest posts come after Ms Kerr posted in 2020 about a petition claimed to be on behalf of the “millions of Australians” against the push “to force hastily approved and poorly tested novel vaccines on the population, when adequate long term safety data is unavailable”.
In posts now deleted, there were links to stories promoting the views of fervent US anti-vaxxers Robert Kennedy Jnr and David “Avocado” Wolfe, and Australian former celebrity chef “Paleo” Pete Evans.
Wolfe refers to himself as “the rock star and Indiana Jones of the superfoods and longevity universe” and boasts that “the world’s top CEOs, ambassadors, celebrities, athletes, artists, and the real superheroes of this planet – mums – all look to David for expert advice in health, beauty, herbalism, nutrition, and chocolate”.
News.com.au requested responses from Therese Kerr and her agent Annie Kelly about her support for anti-vaxxer causes and whether her family would never be vaccinated, and thus potentially restricted from international travel once the current overseas travel ban is lifted.
Therese’s husband John Kerr has shared similar posts on his Facebook account along with videos from Alan Jones.
John Kerr posted on August 23 about an immunology expert Dr Ryan Cole saying the Covid vaccine “is weakening the immune system”.
Three days later it was Craig Kelly’s response in Federal Parliament about Covid.
Other posts by John Kerr says “Covid is a true killer. So far it’s killed the flu, cancer, heart disease – it killed the ability to think, logic and common sense”.
In one of Therese Kerr’s posts, a cartoon man watching television has been pierced through the heart by the Pinnochio-like nose a woman who appears to be NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian.
Below the cartoon it reads, “the greatest weapon is not the gun or the bomb. It is the control of information.”
