Live breaking news: NSW Health issues new 'close contact' venue alert
Areas of virus concern in Sydney are increasing, with a grocery store, medical centre and several other locations identified on Saturday.
Two new venues have been added to the list of infection concern, with anyone who attended at times identified last week to be tested for coronavirus immediately, NSW Health says.
Hop Hung Asian Grocery in Lakemba and Strathfield Plaza Medical Practice were identified as risks of close contact infection on Saturday night.
Anyone who was at the grocer on Wednesday, June 30 between 11.20 and 11.40am, or the medical practice on Thursday, July 1 from 1.30 to 2.10pm must isolate for 14 days regardless of their test result, the public health alert said.
Areas of casual contact have also been listed.
It comes as Sydneysiders have been slammed for defying lockdown this weekend, ignoring pleas to stay home as NSW battles the highly-contagious Delta variant.
One week into strict lockdown, 35 new cases of community transmission were recorded on Saturday, nine of which were infectious during their time in the community.
This is where Australia's outbreaks stand: NSW has 261 cases, Queensland has 28 cases, the Northern Territory has 10 cases, Western Australia has five cases and South Australia has six cases.
