‘It’s quite sad’: Tik Tok guy Jon-Bernard Kairouz’s wild new claim

Tik Tok comedian Jon-Bernard Kairouz has made a spectacular claim about the NSW premier after he failed to predict yesterday’s numbers.

TikTok comedian Jon-Bernard Kairouz has spectacularly claimed the NSW premier changed yesterday’s daily Covid case figure to discredit him.

He also claimed on an interview with Nova FM that a public servant has been wrongly sacked over his videos in which he “predicted” NSW’s daily Covid cases over five straight days.

Kairouz’s winning streak came to an end yesterday.

He claimed “simple maths” was behind his accurate predictions, said there would be 109 new local Covid-19 cases, but only 98 were announced on Monday.

Reports swirled before Monday’s press conference that a “trap” had been set inside NSW Health amid speculation someone was leaking the figures to Kairouz.

NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said he was disappointed by the leaks but denied a “sting” had smoked out the culprit.

However, this morning Kairouz claimed someone at NSW Health had wrongly lost their job over his videos.

“Some poor bastard’s been sacked and I feel for him because I was just doing arithmetic and they’ve set this high-level surveillance on him,” he told Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa.

He even went as far as to claim Gladys Berejiklian changed yesterday’s numbers to discredit him saying “it’s quite sad” and maintains he’s just an innocent mathematician.

Wippa asked him: “Can we get to the point where we can say that there was a leak within the libs or was it from the Covid app?”

“I honestly was not. I’m being completely upfront with you guys, I wasn’t getting it from either,” Kairouz responded.

“That is quite sad because they’ve sent booby-traps for a local comedian who is doing maths.”

For anyone who still cares, Kairouz said today’s number of new cases in NSW will be 76.

During the government’s daily press conference yesterday, Mr Hazzard revealed the source came to light after an internal review of how case data was being stored in NSW Health’s systems.

“Can I say it was a disappointment that something as serious as our messaging to the community in a pandemic, clearly someone somebody in the system was feeling the need to disclose those figures to somebody who was not an appropriate person to be making commentary about it,” he said.

“And so, Health looked at the issues around that, I saw someone saying on social media that it was a sting, no it wasn’t.

“It was looking at what the issues were and making sure that the system was such that the information could be kept to the appropriate time with messaging to the community ... in terms of us giving the important message which goes out at 11 o’clock each day, in a way that the community understands the significance of what we are asking people to do, to keep people safe.”
