Liberal MP Tim Smith has launched a stunning attack on Daniel Andrews, branding the premier a “lunatic” and calling for him to resign today.
Speaking with 2GB’s Ben Fordham today, Mr Smith blasted Mr Andrew’s handling of the COVID-19 crisis and his decision to keep Melbourne in lockdown.
“The man is a habitual liar. Franky, I think he has lost the capacity to govern. I think he’s gone mad. He’s a lunatic,” Mr Smith said.
“He’s costing 1200 jobs a day by this lockdown. For the good of Victoria, for the good of the people of Australia, and indeed for his own sake, he’s got to resign today.
“I simply can’t see how Victoria can get out of this crisis with Daniel Andrews at the helm because he’s lost his nerve.”
Andrews makes me sad & angry about what heâs done to our once great city and state.1200 people lose their jobs every day because of this lockdown, does that make you angry?800 people died in the 2nd wave caused entirely by Andrews hotel quarantine fiasco, does that make you sad? https://t.co/qLT6gVnkAn

Mr Smith went on to claim that Mr Andrews had the deaths of “800 people on his conscience”.
“He knows he should be opening up the state but he can’t because he’s lost his nerve. He knows his previous decisions have caused so much grief, so much angst and so many problems for the people of Victoria, the people of Australia,” Mr Smith said.
“So I call on Daniel Andrews to go. Please go now, close the door on your way out and may we never hear from you ever again.
“I think a few people are beginning to agree with me that this bloke is unhinged and not fit to govern.”
Mr Smith finished by branded Melbourne a “hell hole” and claiming Mr Andrews has ruined the city with the prolonged restrictions.
