The pair – a man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s – live in the Northern Beaches area and share no link to the case in a 45-year-old man reported today (or any other known cases).
Contact tracing and urgent genome sequencing are underway, with genome sequencing results expected in the next 24 to 48 hours.
People who have attended the following venues are considered close contacts and should get tested immediately and isolate for 14 days - even if they receive a negative result: the Palm Beach female change rooms on Sunday, December 13 between 9 and 9:15am; Coast Palm Beach Cafe on Sunday, December 13 between 10 and 11am; Avalon Bowlo on Sunday, December 13 between 3 and 5pm; Sneaky Grind Cafe, Avalon Beach on Monday, December 14 between 10:30am and 11am, Barramee Thai Massage and Spa, 4/42-44 Old Barrenjoey Rd, Avalon Beach on Monday December 14 between 2pm and 3.30pm, Bangkok Sidewalk Restaurant, 1/21-23 Old Barrenjoey Rd, Avalon Beach on Monday December 14 between 7pm and 8pm.
People who visited the following venues should tested and isolate until they receive a negative result: Woolworths Avalon Beach on Sunday, December 13 between 3 and 5pm and Oliver's Pie, Careel Shopping Village, Avalon Beach on Monday, December 14 between 9 and 9:15am.
The new cases come just hours after a 45-year-old man returned a positive virus result this morning.
The man, who drives vans carrying international aircrew to and from Sydney Airport, first started showing symptoms on Saturday, Mr Hazzard said.
Any adults who attended the Forest Rangers FC, Little Rangers session at Gannons Park, Pindari Rd and Isaac Street, Peakhurst on Friday, December 11 between 4:30pm and 5:30pm has been advised to get tested immediately and isolate until they receive a negative result.
