Coronavirus Australia live: Daniel Andrews faces no-confidence motion
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has described a no-confidence motion against him as "cheap politics" that won't help the state's COVID-19 second wave.
Victorian Opposition Leader Michael O'Brien has moved a motion of no-confidence against Premier Daniel Andrews.
The Liberal Nationals claim it follows "a number of failures, cover-ups and lies" by Mr Andrews and his Labor Government in regards to their COVID-19 pandemic response.
Mr O'Brien on Tuesday afternoon urged Labor MPs to cross the floor.
At his daily press conference, Mr Andrews said: "He's (Mr O'Brien's) not relevant to the work I'm doing, nor are his urgings.
"He and the cheap politics he trades in, is of no consequence when it comes to fighting this virus."
He said cheap politics "does not work against this wildly infectious virus".
"If it did, then those who are completely irrelevant would have a much greater part to play," Mr Andrews added.
Victoria recorded 12 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday while there were 13 new cases announced in New South Wales - six in hotel quarantine and seven cases of community transmission.
There were no new cases in Queensland where only two active cases remain.
