A fundraising page set up by the brother of the pregnant Victorian woman arrested for arranging an anti-lockdown protest has been shut down.
Jordan Buhler, the brother of 28-year-old Zoe Buhler, who went viral internationally after live-streaming her arrest yesterday, started the GoFundMe to raise money for her legal fees.
“Hi everyone, as you all know my pregnant sister Zoe Lee has gone viral due to police coming into her home and arresting her in front of her kids due to her creating a post saying she wanted to raise awareness for mental health issues and suicide awareness during these hard times,” he wrote on the page.
“She said she wanted to meet with face masks and social distancing, she was then dealt a warrant and arrested and told that she could be facing four to 15 years in jail for a post! All money raised will go straight to help Zoe Lee pay her legal fees.”
The GoFundMe raised $8618 in donations before being deactivated.
It wasn’t immediately clear why the page was shut down. Under GoFundMe’s Australian terms of service, users are allowed to fundraise for legal fees.
