AN earthquake off Fiji is unlikely to pose any threat to the pacific island, Geoscience Australia says.

A DEEP earthquake off Fiji is unlikely to have any effect on the surface, Geoscience Australia says.

GA says the 6.2 magnitude quake hit at a depth of 585km, east northeast of Ndoi Island, at 7.28am on Monday.
