BARACK Obama’s dog Sunny has become a little too frisky in the final days of his owner’s presidency, biting a visitor to the White House on the face.

And no, it wasn’t Donald Trump.

According to reports, Sunny bit the 18-year-old girl, who is a family friend, while she was visiting 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

TMZ reports the girl bent down to pat the Obamas’ four-year-old Portuguese Water Dog and it bit her on the face.

The girl was attended to by the family’s doctor, who said she would require stitches that may leave a small scar.

Portuguese Water Dogs are a relavitely rare breed and not known for their aggression, so the bite was out of character for Sunny.

In photos posted on social media, blood can be seen trickling from a small cut on the girl’s face.

The Obamas have another dog, also a Portuguese Water Dog, eight-year-old Bo who has earned the title of First Dog during President Obama’s two terms in the White House.

The Obamas chose the breed, which originally hails from the Portuguese region of Algarve, because their daughter Malia’s allergies meant she needed a breed that is hypo-allergenic.

Both dogs have something of a history of misbehaviour, especially Sunny. She jumped on a two-year-old girl at a Christmas function at The White House in 2013.

President Obama also spoke about some of the dramas the family had in house training Sunny in an interview with People magazine.

“Sunny is a wonderful dog,” Obama said.

“But there have been times where she just decided that the area near the Lincoln Bedroom and my office — at the other end of the hall from her crate — is included in being outside when it comes to pooping, which is not true. It’s still the inside. She didn’t always understand that.”

“She knows that she’s doing something wrong because she’ll run.

“Sometimes I’ll be in my office, and I’m doing my work and I’ll see this scurrying — and I have to get up and run before she does her thing, because if I’m too late then there’s a little gift that she leaves.”

Donald Trump will enter the White House after his inauguration on January 20.

Mr Obama gave his final speech as US President in Chicago on Wednesday.
