Pictures show elderly motorist driving with dead biker on car roof in Malaysia
An elderly driver was captured driving her car with a dead motorcyclist on her roof after ramming him at an intersection.
The moment an elderly driver realised she had been driving with a dead motorcyclist on her roof — after ramming him in an intersection — has been captured by horrified onlookers.
The driver, 67, hit the 26-year-old biker at a crossroads near the town of Kuala Selangor in the Malaysian state of Selangor around 9:50am. June 23, Central News Agency reported.
In the disturbing footage going viral online, the senior citizen can be seen discovering that she drove for almost 2km with the man on her roof before she was flagged down by concerned bystanders.
A police spokesperson told local media that the driver failed to stop at the intersection, causing the biker to crash into the side of her Proton sedan.
Kuala Selangor police chief Ramli Kasa said the impact of the crash “led the motorcyclist to be thrown onto the roof of the car and he died on the spot.”
He had been riding with his brother and some friends when the accident happened, according to family members.
The motorcyclist’s body was taken to a nearby hospital to undergo an autopsy and the woman — who reportedly suffers from several serious medical conditions including diabetes, kidney problems and high blood pressure — was treated for minor injuries to her lower back.
The investigation into the biker’s death is ongoing.
