TIME is running out for the world to solve the North Korean crisis as the country continues to threaten the world’s security.

The dire warning from the chief of staff of the US Army, General Mark Milley, said North Korea’s July 4 test of an intercontinental ballistic missile shows its capabilities are advancing significantly, and faster, than many expected.

In remarks to the National Press Club in Washington yesterday, General Milley said there was still time for a non-military solution but also cautioned that “time is running out”.

He said: “North Korea is extremely dangerous and more dangerous as the weeks go by.”

The warning comes as speculation mounts the rogue nation may be preparing for another intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) or intermediate range missile test.

US officials said transporter vehicles carrying ballistic missile launching equipment were seen arriving in Kusong, North Korea last Friday. The move could indicate another test is imminent.

North Korea said its July 4 intercontinental ballistic missile test was a “gift” to “American bastards” on their Independence Day. The move alarmed experts and sparked global condemnation with pressure mounting on the DPRK to end its nuclear program.

North Korea is among the three countries targeted in a set of new sanctions which aim to punish Pyongyang over its nuclear program.

The US Senate passed bipartisan sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea, sending the package to President Donald Trump, who must decide whether to accept the tough approach to Moscow or veto the measure.
