Thai authorities searching for woman after Australian man found dead in Bangkok

POLICE are searching for a woman after an Australian traveller was found dead in a pool of blood following a horror balcony fall in Thailand.

Joshua Edward Beath, 25, was found dead on July 29 having apparently fallen to his death from his seventh-storey hotel room in Bangkok.

Thai police say the Melbourne man arrived with a woman the night before but she had left the hotel by the time police arrived.

There were no signs of a struggle in the hotel room and nothing to suggest Mr Beath was the victim of a crime,The Australian reports.

Police are analysing CCTV footage as part of their ongoing investigation.

Mr Beath checked into the Surawong Road hotel on July 28 and his naked body was found in a pool of blood the following day.

He had suffered extensive head injures, according to the ABC.

In a death notice which appeared in the Herald Sun last Tuesday his family said he died “tragically as a result of an accident in Thailand”.

His mother Christine and stepfather Terry, along with his brothers Jarryd, Mitchell and Tyler described their heartache in three simple sentences.

“A piece of our family puzzle has been tragically taken and cannot be replaced,” the notice read.

“Words cannot describe how Josh touches all our hears and everybody he met.

“We will miss your cheeky grin and your humorous intellect and big heart.”

It is understood Mr Beath was in Thailand as part of a month-long holiday.

A spokesman for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it was providing consular assistance to the family, the ABC reported.
