Justin Bieber’s face paralysis is just the start
Justin Bieber has revealed that he has been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which has paralysed half of the pop star’s face.
Ramsay Hunt syndrome is a rare neurological disorder characterised by facial palsy, or paralysis, often accompanied by a rash affecting the ear or mouth.
What is Ramsay Hunt syndrome?
The syndrome is caused by an infection of the varicella-zoster virus — the same one that causes chickenpox and shingles.
Bieber said he’s working on facial exercises to get back to health. But this isn’t the first health struggle the Canadian hit maker has encountered.
Lyme disease 
In 2020, Bieber revealed that he had been battling Lyme disease, which can spread to humans by infected ticks and causes symptoms like tiredness, aches and loss of energy.

Depression
After the success of his debut album Baby, Bieber struggled to cope with global fame.
Bieber has opened up about his mental health issues, speaking about how he hit rock bottom, which left him “really suicidal” and in “constant pain.”
Addictions
The singer described his drug use with various illegal substances as an “escape” from the pressures of fame at a young age. Bieber decided to get sober as the drugs took their toll on his body and mind.
As he made the decision to embrace sobriety, Bieber then met his wife Hailey, 25. They have been married since 2018.
