Elliot Page makes red carpet debut

Actor Elliot Page has made his first red carpet appearance at the 2021 Met Gala since coming out as transgender in December.
Page sported a black Balenciaga suit accessorised with a green rose pinned to his lapel at his Met debut.
The star also opened up about why it was “crucial and important” for him to share his coming-out story.
Page, 34, reflected on his red carpet appearances in an interview with Time, saying he “just never recognised [himself]” while dressing up for events.
“There was so much press, so many premieres all around the world," he said. "I was wearing dresses and heels to pretty much every single event.”
“For me, in this time we’re in right now and especially with this horrible backlash we’re seeing towards trans people, particularly trans youth, it really felt imperative to do so.”
