Eddie Betts SHARES ‘emotional’ response to anti-racism song

Retired Blues and Crows champion and Indigenous great Eddie Betts has shared his emotional reaction to Paul Kelly’s anti-racism song. 
The legendary Australian musician released the song ‘Every Step of the Way’, which is written from the perspective of Betts, who battled racism throughout his AFL career.
Betts spoke of the emotional response he and his mother had when listening to Kelly’s song.
Kelly was inspired when he watched Betts deliver a speech on Fox Footy’s AFL 360 about how he was “sick and tired” of being racially abused.
Kelly admitted he was nervous about the response to the song, having written it from Betts’ imaginative voice last year.
Kelly recorded the song in March but was initially unsure about what he’d do with it. After Betts’ second emotional plea, the musician decided to reach out.-Paul Kelly
