Daniel Ricciardo has revealed why he rejected McLaren’s offer to join their IndyCar team, declaring he has “unfinished business” in Formula 1.

The 33-year-old confirmed the 2022 season would be his last at McLaren and will reportedly receive a payout from the team in the region of $14.5 million.
Before his sacking McLaren chief executive Zak Brown offered Ricciardo a seat in IndyCar team Arrow McLaren SP.

Though Ricciardo’s most likely option for 2023 appears to be former team Alpine, there are reports the vacant seat looks increasingly likely to go to Pierre Gasly.
If true then the eight time race winner would be looking to sign with AlphaTauri, Williams, Haas or Alfa Romeo, but he won’t reveal his final decision just yet.
