Here’s another reason to hope Australia’s international borders reopen soon.

A new Club Med resort in France is launching a room inspired by the famous Terry’s Chocolate Orange, just in time for everyone’s favourite season to eat it: Christmas.

Everything about this room at the La Rosiere ski resort is modelled on the beloved chocolate treat, from the large chocolate orange wedges towering over the bed, to the orange and blue upholstery inspired by Terry’s iconic packaging. The wallpaper is an exact replica of the foil wrapper.

If that’s not enough to tempt you, the festive room will be fitted out with a spectacular Christmas tree complete with chocolate orange baubles hanging from the branches.

And it doesn’t stop there. The desk in the room looks like a giant chocolate block, there’s a personalised stocking filled with sweet treats, and even the toilet paper is scented.

Guests can also take advantage of the themed room service menu, which includes a “hot chocolate orange” and chocolate orange desserts.

The resort itself is a pretty spectacular place to stay for a white Christmas. La Rosiere is 1900m above sea level in the French Alps and features 180-degree panoramic views, gourmet restaurants and a range of activities for beginner and expert snow sport enthusiasts.

No opening date has been confirmed for the chocolate orange room but it is expected to be available in time for the Christmas season.

Prices for the room start at around $170 per person per night, but it seems it’s part of a wider all-inclusive package that starts at around $2300 for a seven-night stay, according to the UK’s Mirror.

Sadly that doesn’t do much for Australian chocolate orange-aholics who still can’t travel overseas due to our ongoing international travel ban.

If it’s any consolation, we’ve noticed Terry’s Chocolate Oranges are on sale this week at Woolworths.
