A tearful mother has said her daughter’s skull split “like a boiled egg” after she fell from a diving board at a popular bar in Bali.

Aliyah Ayash, 8, was on holiday with her dad and older sister last year when they visited Mrs Sippy in Seminyak.

Aliyah, from North Sydney, fell six metres from the diving board at the venue and onto a concrete platform below.

She was rushed to Denpasar hospital where she had two emergency surgeries to relieve swelling to her brain before she was flown to Perth Children’s Hospital.

She now has 16 titanium plates holding her skull together and suffers from short term memory loss.

Aliyah’s mum Fergil Mestanov told A Current Affair her “body just gave way” when she got the call from Bali to say Aliyah was hurt.

Describing Aliyah’s injuries, Ms Mestanov said her skull was “like a boiled egg in two fragments...the shell had just cracked”.

Ms Mestanov said her daughter will probably require further surgeries, more specialist appointments and ongoing education tutoring as a result of her injuries.

The family were struggling to get compensation from Mrs Sippy, so ACA approached the bar’s owner Ben May, who lives in Sydney.

He was horrified to learn about Aliyah’s injury and called Ms Mestanov straight away.

“I consider myself a pretty good corporate citizen so this is slightly horrific for me and I’m not doubting it’s even more horrific for the family involved,” Mr May said.

Mr May later said he believed the family’s law firm in Bali had not responded to requests for documents from Mrs Sippy’s insurer.

The father-of-four said he is committed to assisting Aliyah and working with her family in relation to the insurance claim.
