Virgin Australia extends Happy Hour sale with flights to the Whitsundays
Nothing quite says summer like an island holiday. Now, Virgin Australia is slinging some pretty cheap fares – but you’ll have to be quick.
Following the success of more than 60,000 flights going on sale last week from as little as $75, Virgin Australia has dropped another string of cheap flights to get more Australians in the air these school holidays.
Focusing on the Whitsundays, the airline has dropped cheap fares to the palm tree-lined beaches with flights to Whitsunday Coast Airport going from just $109 right now. But if you’re keen on getting straight to Hamilton Island, well, there’s some fares starting from $155 as well.

The airline launched a 12-hour Happy House sale earlier this month, which thousands of seats go up for grabs. Since then, they have extended the sale to meet growing domestic travel demands.
The string of new Aussie flight sales comes after it was revealed Rex airlines would launch flights between Sydney and Melbourne from as little as $79.
Virgin Australia Group chief commercial officer John MacLeod said the relaunch of Happy Hour “heralds the start of a new chapter for Virgin Australia guests, with borders safely reopening and many Australians looking to book their next adventure or family vacation”.
“We are seeing considerable demand across our domestic network, and along with our recently added flights, this sale is a way we can get even more people back in the sky, particularly families looking for a great value airfare over the school holiday period.,” Mr MacLeod said.
“Happy Hour is just one of the many good things we are offering travellers as part of our commitment to rewarding guests with great value fares and the best airline service in Australia.”
